FRONTIER PRESENTATION AT BROWN UNIVERSITY: FRIDAY 16TH OCT:
12:00PM
Frontier is a non profit, non government conservation organization.
Frontier was established in 1989 in Tanzania, a country we are still working in today! Our HQ is based in London, and we aim to have a second office in the States for 2010! Frontier now runs 250 projects in 50 countries spanning 5 continents. Frontiers volunteer programs range from our Science / Biodiversity research to Teaching, Community and wildlife conservation programs.
The Science/Biodiversity research programs allow the students
(volunteers) to work in a professional research environment alongside research scientists. The aim is to build protected areas and national parks thus ensuring the preservation and discovery of new species whilst generating sustainable livelihoods! We currently work alongside, Wildlife Conservation Society in Costa Rica, University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, L' Institut Halieutique et des Sciences in Madagascar, Ministry of Environment in Cambodia and the University of the South Pacific and the IOI in Fiji.
Frontier also works with in-country specialists in Central and South America, Africa, South East Asia and Australasia to offer Teaching, Community and wildlife conservation programs to students and non students above the age of 17.

Frontier release these newsletters 4 times a year. It illustrates what Frontier accomplishes with the data thats been collected by the volunteer, as well as documenting what schools, medical centres and shelters have been built in the area, and the personal journey and experiences the volunteer encounters whilst teaching in the schools and community . It is a great way for those considering a project to learn from the experiences and achievements of those who have already volunteered, before embarking on a project themselves.
The presentation is designed for all students looking to gain cultural experiences, credits, independent research credits, internships and qualifications abroad!
