Implementing Conservation Areas to Restore Health to New England's Ocean

John Crawford – Conservation Law Foundation

Dr. Crawford is Senior Scientist with the Conservation Law Foundation in Boston. He received his undergraduate training in Biology at Duke University and his PhD from Cornell in the ecology and behavior of fishes. After a decade on the faculty of University of Pennsylvania, he joined CLF, where he focuses on marine ecosystems and methods for designing conservation areas in the open ocean.

Brown Policy Review

The Brown Policy Review (BPR) is currently accepting submissions for papers to publish this fall semester.  BPR is an undergraduate student publication by the Roosevelt Institution, a national think tank, at Brown that collects, edits and publishes student papers in an academic journal.

The BPR is searching for 10-20 page papers on education, economics, environmental, foreign, health and/or legal policy.  The best papers are sent on to the national Roosevelt Institution for possible publication.

Industrial Economics, Incorporated (IEc) – Open House

Friday, October 19th, 2:00 to 5:00pm

IEc, an economic and environmental consulting firm, is recruiting new Research Analysts and Associates to work on projects ranging from modeling the effects of sea level rise to natural resource damage assessment (and many projects in between).

During the Open House four consultants will give a brief presentation of their current project work.  Before and following these presentations, members of IEc's Recruitment Committee and other members of staff will be available to talk further with guests about working at IEc, and how to apply for a position.
