This scatter plot shows the correspondence between vegetation change values as calculated by NDVI vs. SMA. As the plot shows, most pixels fall along a best-fit line showing overall good correlation between the two methods. However, there is some spread and so some small discrepancies exist. The regularly scattered pixels at the bottom are due to artifacts from the satellite sensor acquisition that become apparent in some data over areas with extremely low DN values, such as water, and therefore are not an indication of correlation problems between the two methods for vegetation.
