Forest Classification according to NDVI Threshold of .35 (1976)

The red areas are pixels with NDVI vegetation abundance values of .35 or above in 1976. This is the area that would be classified as forest in 1976 if such a threshold were used to separate forested areas from other types of vegetation. This is 13.88 km2 less forested area than what was calculated as existing in 1972 using this threshold method. That is a two percent decrease in forest cover from 1972.
