This area is the study region plotted in Figure 6. This area covers approximately 41km by 51km. Red corresponds to vegetation and the dark green is a dark volcanic soil. This area incorporates many types of land cover, including continuous forest, shrub land, bare soil, water, sand, and disturbed/mixed use plots.
