The Purpose of this Site
This site presents the full findings of a study conducted
on growth issues in Charlestown, Rhode Island. This study intends
to aid in the creation of growth management policies in Charlestown,
specifically the Openspace Plan, and Openspace Impact Fee. It also
intends to add to the body of research conducted using GIS to explore
environmental land use issues.

The study began by estimating the growth that
may occur in Charlestown. This portion of the study is presented
in the buildout portion
of the site. The study then went on to create a GIS-based
scoring system to help guide openspace
policies.
The findings from this study will be incorporated
in Phase IV of growth management in Charlestown, the creation
of an openspace impact fee, and the openspace plan.
