Residential
Zoning Definitions
1.
R-20 High Density Residential:
20,000 square foot minimum lot size. Intended use is high density
residential single family houses.
2.
R-40 Medium Density Residential: 40,000 square foot
minimum lot size. Intended for medium density single family residential
development in village areas.
3.
R2-A Low Density Residential: 2 Acre minimum lot size.
Intended to protect areas with sensitive environmental characteristics
which include groundwater recharge areas and salt pounds.
4.
R3-A Low density Residential: 3 Acre minimum lot size.
Intended for sensitive areas and areas that are considered "Lands
of Critical Concern" and "Self Sustaining Lands".
5.
Planned Development District: The purpose of the
district is to allow for a flexible mixture of uses and amenities
with performance standards while allowing the town site plan review
in the planning of a large parcel.
Other
Zones Relevant to Residential Buildout:
1.
Openspace: Openspace zone is
inaccessible to residential development, and will be kept out of
buildout.
2.
Narragansett Indian Tribe Settlement Lands: These
lands will be excluded from buildout.
