The Scoring Systems

These are the point values used in this analysis. The values were normalized to 1000 points, and had to be rounded, so they don't add up to 1000. The total number of points in the Planning and Conservation Commissions' scoring system is 65 points greater then those in the Web Survey's scoring system.

The survey results are from the Charlestown Openspace Prioritization Project. The survey did not explicitly ask respondents to rate each particular resource. The values that are included in this point system are derived from the analysis of the results of the survey.

The Planning and Conservation Commission results are from a survey of the two groups during a planning workshop in January. This survey also had to be adjusted to fit the actual values needed as the model changed, but the values have remained largely intact. The original numbers from the survey are available on this site.
