Survey Findings

The survey was open for public input from 7 February to 21 March, 2001. Over the course of 43 days, 124 residents participated. Solid conclusions can be drawn from survey findings, provided that the survey sample size is representative of Charlestown's population. Information such as age, residence time, school children, property value, land holdings and geographic distribution of respondents provide a solid indication that findings from this study represent the priorities of many Charlestown residents.

This section is devoted to the presentation of survey findings, and accompanying analyses. Survey results for individual survey sites can be accessed by clicking here for the site list. Site-specific finding pages provide a summary of findings for each site, and include the Visual Inventory and responses to each site-specific question. This information is particularly useful for local planning purposes. When making openspace decisions on specific parcels, or whenever considering any of the survey parcels for alterations or development, this information can be consulted to inform the Planning Commission of public perceptions and valuation of sites.
