The darker brown color in the image above shows the building and road footprints that are still remaining on the property. The lighter brown color shows the former Ladd School grounds which are still maintained as grassy fields. These managed grasslands are most likely used as feeding grounds for two Odonata dragonfly species which are listed on RIDEM's Special Concern List by RI's Natural Heritage Commission. The rest of the property is either forest or wetland with a small 7-acre lake and the Queens River and Queens Fort Brook running in and out of the property.
