The
red areas in the image above show the parts of the property that have
had some ongoing development or redevelopment since the site was transferred
to the state. The large red portion in the center and to the west of
West Allen Harbor (shown in light blue) are the most unused and overgrown
permeable areas. These areas are dotted with abandoned buildings, some
of which have been removed, mostly from the north-western corner of
the central developed portion. The red areas in the western and eastern
portions of the site are relatively developed and impervious with spotted
areas of permeable grasslands. The areas not shown in red are completely
undeveloped, including the 18-hole golf course, and may have wetlands,
lakes, streams, or any critical resource occuring there.
