The Hunt River Aquifer drains into Greenwich Bay which is just north of the image. Presently, half of the property's area lying over the aquifer is undeveloped. Since this undeveloped land is in the aquifer's groundwater recharge area, it is a good buffer for filtering the water percolating through the soil from above. If this area is left undeveloped, then the property's industrial runoff would not be so concentrated and damaging to the water quality of the sole source aquifer.
