Unified Watershed Assessment & Restoration Priorities in Rhode Island

The Unified Watershed Assessment & Restoration Priorities in Rhode Island, prepared by the USDA, the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management Office of Water Resources offers two additional sets of watershed boundaries. 

Ten Rhode Island Major Basins:

  • Blackstone River Basin
  • Woonasquatucket River Basin
  • Moshassuck River Basin
  • Ten Mile River Basin
  • Quinebaug River Basin
  • Pawtuxet River Basin
  • Narragansett Bay Basin
  • Pawcatuck River Basin
  • Westport River Basin
  • Coastal Waters

Five U.S.G.S. 8-Digit Hydrologic Units within RI:

  • Blackstone (01090003)
  • Narragansett (01090004)
  • Pawcatuck-Wood (01090005)
  • Quinebaug (01100001)
  • Cape Cod (01090002)

The Providence and Seekonk Rivers are included in the Narragansett Bay Basin (from the ten RI major basins) and the Narragansett U.S.G.S. 8-digit hydrologic unit.
