Penn State Indicators Report 2000: This report is intended for a wide range of readers --students, staff, faculty, administrators, and members of the community at large. It reflects the University's growing commitment to environmental stewardship and builds on the literally hundreds of initiatives undertaken by University staff to promote sustainable practices.
- Green Density Council: One of Green Destiny's more ambitious goals is to reduce the ecological impact of Penn State by half. The group is focusing our efforts on campus buildings because buildings are the locus of consumption. The Muller Report outlines strategies for achieving this goal.
- Ecological Mission: Spring, 2001, the Penn State Faculty Senate and Graham Spanier unanimously approved and adopted Green Destiny's Ecological Mission for Penn State .
- Finance and Business Environmental Strategy: One of the Environmental Initiatives Goals is to use environmentally responsible campus design and planning principles by considering the environmental implications in the development, construction, and operation of campus infrastructure, grounds and buildings. Accomplishments to date: it appears that the new SALA building will be LEED certified with a Silver rating. The School of Forest Resources building will also be LEED certified. PSU has adopted "green" design standards that must be integrated into all new PSU buildings. These include compliance with the latest energy efficiency and indoor air quality design standards, as well as commissioning the new building to make sure it operates efficiently.
- Continuous Commissioing: Re-commissioined 8 Buildings in 2003-2004 and plans to re-commission 10 more buildings in 2004-2005.
