The ETF set out to identify and asses UB's impact on the natural environment; develop strategies for reducing this impact; and evaluating compliance with environmental laws and regulations. The ETF is comprised of about 25 staff, faculty and student members and receives strong support from University Facilities, especially the Facilities' UB Green Office .
- Green Building Program: The UB Green Office is working with University Facilities Planning and Design to identify ways to incorporate sustainable or green design thinking and principles into new campus construction. We are also serving the wider community by working with the City of Buffalo, Erie County, Buffalo Schools, the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and various community groups to advance the concept of green building design for major regional construction projects.
- Environmental Policies: These policies are a step in the right direction. Implementation relies on informed, voluntary cooperation by members of the University.
