Stakeholder Process

The stakeholder process is recognized as an important tool for complex problem solving and decision-making. After the preliminary interviews, it was clear that the problems could be better addressed through a stakeholder process. Stakeholders would then have the opportunity to share their problems and hopefully come up with solutions together.

Before a stakeholder process could begin, it was necessary to generate interest and commmitment for the stakeholder process. For the next several months, my role was to act as an information liason between the stakeholders. The purpose was to make stakeholders aware of each other's transportation issues and help them identify common ground. On July 16, 2003, the stakeholders in this study came together for the first meeting of the stakeholder process. The goals of this stakeholder process are:
