WATERFRONT BROWNFIELDS IN THE JEWELRY DISTRICT: DYNAMO HOUSE AND ADJACENT PARCEL AT 360 EDDY STREET

WHERE ARE WE EXACTLY?

The WaThe waterfront brownfield parcels discussed in this section include Dynamo House (Heritage Harbor Museum) and the adjacent lot to the north at 360 Eddy Street. The Heritage Harbor Museum property is bounded by the vacant lot owned by the Narragansett Electrical Company (TNEC of National Grid) to the north, South Street to the south, Eddy Street to the west and the Providence River to the east. A property owned by National Grid / TNEC separates the Dynamo House property from directly abutting the Providence River.

A better sense of the properties in question may be found here:

RedevRedevelopment plans for the Dynamo House / Heritage Harbor site are currently underway. The developer Struever Brothers, Eccles and Russe is working with the Narragansett Electric Company, a National Grid Company, who formerly owned the South Street Power Plant and continues to own the adjacent property to the north and the eastern property that separates Dynamo House from the Providence River.
