The rate of residential growth in Charlestown has increased in recent years mirroring the growing population . Charlestown has implemented a growth cap and impact fees. Here is more information on these growth management regulations. The map to the right shows that the houses in coastal areas are 90% of seasonal. This demonstrates that the seasonal (tourist) population has the potential to impact these fragile coastal areas.
