Developed Land
| Exeter only has 104 acres, or
.004%, dedicated to commercial and industrial uses.
No significant increase has occurred in twenty years.
The rest of the developed land is residential (2007
acres, or 5.4%), agricultural (2,760 acres, or 7.4%),
or recreational/open space (7000 acres, or 19%).
The town's Comprehensive Plan states that present
commercial and industrial development is "unattractive
and detracts from the image of the town." The
Plan discouraged strip development and since then,
the Land Development and Subdivision Regulations
have been changed to not provide means for strip
development to occur. |
