PLANS:
The State's
greenway plan. A network
of interconnected green spaces could create places
for recreation as well as help direct areas for
open space preservation. Following a stream or
passing through a forest, greenways would not
only promote the rural character and beauty of
the town, but would also attract tourists and
tourist dollars to Hopkinton.
Dye Hill Road Development. This
type of development in a rural area represents
an unguided growth management strategy.
Dye Hill Road represents some of Hopkinton's most
pristine lands. Development in this area should
be carefully evaluated such that it be consistent
with the Growth Management Plan.

Exit 2 development. Exit
2 is prime area for potential economic development
providing jobs and tax relief. But, as the property
lies above a GWRA, it is also an environmentally
sensitive area. This area has been set as a priority
for development and inquiries have been made regarding
recreational uses of the land. Careful studies
should be conducted as to whether this type of
development is consistent with the growth management
plan.
