Surface Water

Surface water, including lakes, ponds, streams, and wetlands, are commonplace in Hopkinton. They contribute to scenic beauty and provide a location for recreation.

Surface water exists where the water table (groundwater) breaches the surface. For this reason, it is essential that surface water be protected. For a listing of impaired water bodies in Hopkinton, as well as a description of what an impaired water body is, please link to the Rhode Island DEM.
