Undeveloped Land

This map highlights undeveloped lands that could potentially be developed. It is important to note that not all the green on the map at left is buildable. Because of zoning regulations and geographical features, some land is unbuildable. Yet generally, the green illustrates areas that lack protection from unwise development. It is in these areas that attention should be paid. Land use is broken into two categories:

developed land and lands that are preserved from development;

• undeveloped lands

In the past, there has been support for the purchase of key conservation lands, usually adjacent to other protected state lands or water bodies. Due to Hopkinton's current fiscal situation, open space acquisition has been relegated to the back burner.
