Although
much more needs to be done, Hopkinton has taken initial
steps to ensure that its groundwater remain pure and safe.
At present time, according to the Department of Environmental
Management and the Hopkinton Conservation Commission,
Hopkinton is developing a community-wide groundwater protection
plan. Although the details have not yet been specified,
the reality that effort is being paid to this important
issue is premising. Generally, the groundwater protection
plan will follow guidelines already specified in the Comprehensive
Plan. Mitigative goals will be achieved by educating citizens
and business about the importance of groundwater safety
within the town and neighboring communities. For more
