Data links for An historical perspective on land-use change
and N loading in the Narragansett Bay watershed:
- Population and agricultural land-use history data for RI are now avaiable at the town level here.
(base data from RIGIS, tabular data compiled from state and federal censuses.)
- Equivalent town-level data for Massachusetts are available from the Harvard Forest Data Archive.
Data links for Historical Land Use Change in Grafton County, NH:
- The New Hampshire Geographically Referenced Analysis and Information Transfer System (NH GRANIT): The GRANIT program is housed at the University of New Hampshire, and hosts publicly available GIS data for the state, including political boundaries, transportation infrastructure, elevation, aerial photography, and land cover assessments. Landsat scenes are also available upon request.
- Environmental Protection Agency: The EPA hosts a nationwide land cover assessment for the early 1990s.
- U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: The USFWS hosts extensive datasets of use to people working in conservation, including wetlands and refuge boundaries.
Data links for 55 Years of Land-Use/land cover Change in Israel::
- The Cartography Library of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has a large collection of 1:20,000 and 1:50,000 thematic maps produced by the British (until 1948) and by the Survey of Israel. Acquiring the maps will require a visit to the library. Similar maps are available for purchase through the Survey of Israel.
- The Statistical Bureau of Israel has an extensive set of online resources, including the most recent Statistical Abstracts of Israel. Data from the 1995 census is available at the Statistical Bureau's Library in Jerusalem.
- Satellite imagery was graciously provided by the Center for Earth Observation at Yale University.
