Anne Rhoads, Ph.D. Candidate
Dept. of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology

I am finishing my dissertation in the spring of 2004. My academic interests center around the long-term impacts of humans on ecological communities and, specifically, how these impacts compare to those of natural disturbances.

The conversion of natural and agricultural land to developed land is arguably the largest modern environmental problem today. Ultimately, I plan to use my knowledge of ecosystem structure and function to inform land conservation prioritization and land management.
